Dynamic Dog

Chronic pain or health issues can be extremely challenging to diagnose from an initial clinical examination alone. Many dogs can be stressed or overwhelmed while at the Vets. They may not give much away and their heightened adrenaline can even mask pain during the exam. Add to this that your Vet only has a short time to observe your dog during your appointment and you can see why it can be a pretty difficult task. Imagine if you went to your GP and gave them 15 minutes to diagnose you without you saying a word! A Dynamic Dog Assessment is where we gather relevant behavioural information together with photos and video of your dogs gait and posture and compile it into a useful report for your Vet.

A Dynamic Dog Practitioner has been taught the skills to confidently spot potential signs of discomfort and relay them to the vet so that you and your dog find relief sooner, whilst simultaneously helping you manage your dogs behaviour. Working with a sound knowledge of the inner structures and systems of the dog, we understand the impact that emotional and physical health may have on a dogs behaviour. 

The Dynamic Dog Assessment can be done as a stand alone service if that is all you need or it can be added on to our Behaviour Consultation Package if you are also looking for help with problematic behaviour.

What to expect on top of the standard behaviour assessment?

• All About your Dog - Deep Dive
  • This may be carried out in person or on Zoom depending on your location. Lasting approximately 90 mins we take a look at what life is like for you and your dog. Be warned we want to know EVERYTHING which often leads us down previously unexplored territory.
• Data Gathering
  • Additional information in visual form - photo's and video's of your dog doing various activities of daily life so we can assess any physical issues. You will be given full guidance on how to take the required photos and video footage. This is usually done over a 10-14 day period.
• Evidence Analysis
  • I then spend 48hrs going over all the data & information gathered from our consultation and from the visual evidence you have provided so we can build the full picture of what is going on for your dog.
• Veterinary Report & Liaison
  • I then compile a comprehensive veterinary report with corresponding evidence to provide your vet with as much useful information as possible to help them diagnose any underlying pain or health issues that may be impacting your dogs behaviour.
• Behaviour Management Plan
  • This may be a short term to help you manage behaviour whilst additional Veterinary support is given or longer term help can be discussed depending on assessment outcomes.
