Did you know, a recent study found that as many as 82% of dogs that presented with behavioural issues had some form of undiagnosed pain.

but you would know if your dog was in pain, right?

You'd be amazed at how well dogs compensate for pain or discomfort. Pain related behaviour is extremely complex. Dogs don't often show that they are in discomfort in ways we would usually expect. It is rarely as obvious as a limp or a whine and is often subtle enough that it goes unnoticed for weeks, months and even years! This doesn't mean you are a bad owner for not noticing. Dogs who experience chronic pain will usually still run, jump and play but the signs are there if you know what to look for and that is where our in-depth behaviour consultations and Dynamic Dog Assessments can be invaluable.
